Deep Breathing

I've been practicing deep breathing recently and I've noticed since incorporating deep breathing I relax much faster. I now meditate almost daily and have noticed a significant difference between my usual breathing and deep breathing. Prior to practicing deep breathing when in meditation it would take me between 20 to 40 minutes to relax fully. Now that I'm breathing deeply and slowly I can fully relax withing 5 minutes. I'm more motivated now to meditate because it's so much easier to relax.

Find out how you normally breathe by placing your palms on your lower abdomen and blow out all the air. Then take in a deep breath slowly. If your abdomen expands when you inhale you're breathing properly. However, if your chest and shoulders should rise and your abdomen sucks in rather than stick out you really should consider practicing deep breathing the healthier way. Click here for a wonderful site explaining, with some visual aide on how to breathe properly.

I think it would be best practicing deep breathing at least once everyday. It would also be beneficial to do this at times of stress and anxiety due to it's relaxing effects.

Keep A Dream Journal

Keep a dream journal beside you (somewhere easy to reach). Before going to sleep affirm that you will have a restful sleep and remember your dreams in the morning. Upon waking up keep your eyes closed and try to remember some impression of your dream. This could be a certain way you felt, a person or an object from your dream. By doing this other fragments should come naturally. Write a brief summary of the dream. The shorter the better.

A dream journal is incredibly helpful in achieving an astral projection. It expands your awareness of the altered conscious states. The more dreams you can recall and write down the more aware you will become of your altered state during sleep.

Disturbing posture in sleep paralysis

I was nearing an astral projection this morning. Got into a trance felt myself almost nearing a projection. I also felt the vibrations this time. In the trance state I heard a young girl crying and thought it was my neice, there was also the sound of doors closing and movement around the house. Worried I tried to get myself out of the paralysis but my body remained completely immobile. I began losing consciousness until finally I became conscious of my head bent on the other side of the bed and my butt above me in the air. To the human eye I probably would have looked like I was about to do the rollie pollie only I got paralysed halfway. I had extreme difficulty getting out of it.

Eventually I snapped out and realized I was lying on my back and think the body I percieved was the one in the astral. Of course there was no one crying in the physical - the sounds I'm hearing in the trance state are sounding so real it feels like I'm hearing them physically and not astrally.

I've been meditating this past week and I've noticed some changes in my hearing. It's sharper than ever. I am constantly hearing a high pitched sound in my ears throughout the day which is mildly annoying. I'm quite happy with the progress I'm making on my meditation and by progress I mean that I now look forward to my meditation sessions.

Voices in my head

I woke up from a dream about terrorists at 6:00am. I realized how calm I was in the dream. People were getting shot in front of me yet I was calm. My reaction in the dream to the event was quite disturbing that it kept me awake for about 40 minutes. For 40 minutes I was trying to decipher the dream, find out what it could mean until I decided that it meant nothing.

I then tried to focus on my breathing so that I could astral project. Within a minute I gave up. Sleep came naturally and this time I just woke up and found myself in another place, I think it was a dream rather than a projection. I had immediate control of my body and I was beginning to create a few scenes to experience. Nothing that seemed relevant.

Then in the background I began hearing someone speaking. This voice was pulling me towards it. My dream began to fade away and I was left in the dark. The voice was female and she had an Indian accent. She used the word 'belief' several times. I'm guessing she was talking about how we create our realities a topic I'm very interested in. I was focusing really hard trying to make out what was being said. This caused her voice to slowly fade away and take me back to my earlier scenes. When I stopped trying to focus on the voice it came back.

More and more voices were coming through at such an alarming speed that I didn't catch a single word. I felt overwhelmed and as I did the voices started calming down coming to a slow speed. Then a 60-something year old sounding man with a british accent said 'My death was caused by an overactive imagination. Actually I died because of my imagination.' Every being that was present including me bursted out laughing. In fact I woke up laughing. This guy was really funny and I guess that is why I can easily remember what he said.

Voices are very common in the state of body asleep/mind awake sate. I've experienced hearing voices before. They are usually in foreign accents and sometimes speak in different languages. I've been hearing voices these past few days in that sort of light trance state. They are mostly incoherent, I think I need to learn to tune in properly.

The Astral Park

For a few days prior to this projection I've been working on my third eye chakra. Simply being aware of the pressure at the centre of my forehead. Last night I had the worst headache, it felt like my brain was trying to squeeze itself out. Headaches are not very common for me. However this kind of headache is common when I attempt activating the third eye after a really long time of practice and thankfully does not last long.

Why do I bother with activating my third eye chakra? It actually helps induce projections and raises a higher level of awareness. I also believe it helps projections last longer.

Here's the result of my effort:

I'm suddenly aware that I'm gliding backwards. There is a visible ray of light in the sky. It is day time and I notice I'm in a very grand park. There are all sorts of people in groups in different areas of the park. The park was mostly covered in concrete with some areas covered in grass. I watch the people as I glide by. Some notice me, some smiled at me and others went about their own business. I remember seeing monks and then there were two large Buddha statues. Initially I thought they were statues until they started moving and looking up at me.

I sense there are two men behind me. I quickly come to a halt and face them. They seem extremely vexed as they hold onto a strange looking weapon which is vague to me now. I could tell they were ready to attack me. I telepathically say to them 'Come get me if you can'. They charge at me and as they do I speed past them to the side they were first standing. They charge again, my next move is shooting up in the air about 7 ft above them. At that moment I realized I'm invincible, that even if they attacked me with their strange looking weapon it wouldn't have hurt a bit. I even felt that physically I was invincible. They were looking up at me confused. I tried to look at myself and realized that I didn't have a body, instead I was made up of a bright blue light. I think acknowledging that my physical body was not there made me lose consciousness although I was not worried.

I went on having several vivid dreams.

Acknowledging Inner Being

I woke up at 7:00 am and attempted projection using the countdown method. First I counted back from 100 and it was having no effect. Then I counted backwards from 50 and still nothing, so I decided to turn over in a comfortable position instead of lying on my back. The more comfortable I was the more sleepy I felt. I suddenly became conscious and realized I was lying on my back. I was in the sleep paralysis stage and started feeling paranoid about my breathing as my duvet covered my nose. With some strength I adjusted my head and soon felt mild vibrations.

Same as usual I was spinning. It was dark and my eyes were closed. I kept them sealed so as to not end up waking up to the physical reality. Soon I was wondering why I had not entered the astral yet all the while not noticing that I was in fact in my garden walking down a yellow pathway.

When I recognized that I was projecting my astral body or consciousness was catapulted into the air onto my neighbours window. I peeped inside. There were two single beds with traditional headboards, the room was traditional. I was amazed that I could see this since before I tried and failed. I looked up into the sky and bounced up to my neighbours roof. Had no control over where I was going or what I was doing.

I was now on a road and was looking out from what may be perceived as a car only there was no car, just a pair of eyes. I was looking at a girl who looked like my younger sister, she was pushing a cart full of stuff. Behind her was a jeep with policemen. They were Indian policemen and the jeep is the kind of vehicle used by policemen in India. Nobody noticed me. I glided along a beautiful green field, the grass was a luminous vibrant green. Everything, the sky, the grass the people looked crystal clear. The field was surrounded with more Indian police force. There was a body of a young girl on the fields. I guessed it was an accident.

I moved away from this scene just free-flowing to the never ending vastness of the field. There were mountains surrounded by more nature. It was a beautiful scene but I wanted to add some of my intentional creativity to the experience. I was visualizing but none of it was in my immediate view.

I knew I was slowly waking up to reality, I was back in my body feeling the vibrations again. I relaxed and expected to project again but then both my arms began to move involuntarily. They were being lifted up and down several times. I became excited and realized it was my inner being. As soon as I acknowledged it was my inner being there was an intense sensation at the very core of my being that felt like beautiful ecstasy. In that moment I felt a lifetimes worth of bliss.

I woke up feeling incredibly refreshed and full of energy.

New Years Day Projection

Started at 6:00 am just closing my eyes and watching my breathing. There was suddenly some movement, I was spinning slowly which is very common. Ended up outside where I was viewing a building with lots of windows. Somehow I was in a market place hovering above a crowd of people. I asked one man his name, he turned to look at me for a brief moment and then walked away, RUDE! I then asked a woman her name she responded in the same manner. The whole way throughout my right ear was buzzing annoyingly. I came back to reality and then back to astral - couldn't take the buzzing sensation. The second time it was just dark but then my window came into view. At that moment I was wondering if I was communicating with my inner being or if I was actually being my inner being since recently I have been affirming to communicate with my inner being. As I looked through the window my vision zoomed out until I completely zoomed out of focus and everything became black. I heard a few mumblings about frequency. They - the voices - said something about the lowness and the highness of these frequencies. Before my eyes there was an image of frequency waves followed by loss of consciousness.
